eTutor Alberta, an initiative sponsored by eCampusAlberta, is a consortium of public Alberta post-secondary institutions that have partnered together to provide an online asynchronous writing support service for its students. At present, eTutor Alberta is open to students at thirteen participating institutions: Bow Valley College, Concordia University College of Alberta, Grande Prairie Regional College, Lakeland College, Lethbridge College, MacEwan University, NAIT, NorQuest College, Northern Lakes College, Olds College, Red Deer College, SAIT, and University of Lethbridge.
As a learner, if you submit a paper/Math question for tutoring assistance, a tutor from any of these nine participating institutions may assist you. When you create an account to use the eTutor Alberta service, you will be asked to read and accept the terms and conditions of the service.
The service allows you to submit a draft of your paper to a tutor, ask for specific feedback, and receive a tutor’s response—typically within 24-48 hours (service time may be more during peak times). The offline eQuestions allow you to leave a specific question for an eTutor who will endeavor to respond within 48 hours. It also enables you meet with an online tutor to talk about a Math problem in real time.
Approximately 48 hours after you use the eTutor service, you will be sent a very brief survey link via email. Please take a moment to let us know about your experience with our service. Your feedback will be instrumental in helping eTutor Alberta to better serve all students!
